Charity Grant Applications
Good News!
You may remember that at the beginning of the year we made a wish list of improvements and equipment that we wanted to purchase for the pre-school. The wish list was very long indeed, and costly too, with the outdoor play project requiring in excess of £10,000 alone! Remember that as a charity, we are NOT state funded and we rely totally on any money we get via fund raising and revenue from fees in order to remain open and operate.

We also had the added pressure of having to improve and increase our outdoor play area and facilities in order to satisfy new guidelines, before September 2008.

Thanks to the commitment and dedication of Caroline Hope (Deputy Chair) and Libby Bowness (Chair), the pre-school was able to apply for a number of grant initiatives.

We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in being awarded our first grant.

The grant was awarded to us by Northamptonshire County Council Early Years & Childcare Service for the total of £9,990.

Unfortunately we were unsuccessful in our application to Co-operative Community Dividend.

And we are still awaiting a decision on our application to Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

Most importantly, the grant means that we have been able to go ahead with our extensive plans for the dramatic improvement of the outdoor recreation area and toy storage. You can read more about this on further news items - SEE LEFT
